Native plant rescue and protection program
The program focuses on identifying protected species and mitigating the impact of construction on native vegetation.
Across more than 70 acres of land, native plants were rescued and transplanted to non-impacted areas near the project.
Native vegetation were identified and catalogued.
Adjacent areas with ideal conditions were used to expand the habitat of the Ferocactus viridescens, a species under special conservation status, in Costa Azul.
The program created buffer zones to protect and improve native vegetation habitats.
Educational programs will be implemented in local schools to stimulate the preservation and appreciation of the native plants.
To date over 5,000 plants have been transplanted.
The native vegetation were replanted and conservation zones were identified.
It is estimated that in five years, the newly created habitats will be self-sufficient.
